I found this 8 wide, 7 high 14 long cargo box for sale on Facebook. This box at 7 feet tall is 1 foot shorter than the box that was on it when I first went to view the truck. That's exactly what I was looking for.
The price was right. I made the deal.
The issue was the soft ground. It had rained for a month or so leaving the pasture land soggy and soft. No tow company would attempt to go get it for fear of getting stuck.
The box still has the original truck frame welded to the bottom. I need to keep the box off of the trailer fenders as well. I built a crude platform to support the box over the fenders.
Step 1 complete! Now could I make it out of the soggy pasture? Time to lock in the 4x4.
BOOM! Made it to the road with no major drama.
The only way I can figure to unload the box is to chain it to a large Oak tree in my back yard and drive out from underneath it.
We had a month of rain. No one with a tow truck would attempt to pick up my 14 foot cargo box out of a pasture yard. It took a while, but I got it. This cargo box will eventually be converted to a large sleeper and living area for a 1984 Peterbilt 362 Cabover I'm restoring.
