The engine starts, runs, and idles well. A complete oil and filter changes only made it better.
Someone before me built this truck to be reliable. Note the double clamps in each area on both the turbo air intake as well as coolant pipes and hoses.
All of the hoses, air charge and coolant, are being replaced. Following the original builders lead, all clamp locations will have double clamps.
3406B CAT hoses and pipes to be restored or replaced.
The original Donaldson air cleaner was removed and media blasted to remove all the loose rust and debris.
I need to replace the mechanical tach cable on my 1984 Peterbilt 362 Cabover. I have a cable that came with the truck. I see why the previous owner didn't install it. The tach cables have different ends, round with a tang pinched into it. This MDS adapter I bought from Summit Racing and a little bit of filing down the square end of a much less expensive speedometer cable might be a suitable fix when the original style isn't available or is too expensive.
