This "Stink Bug" is a 1967 VW Bug with a fiberglass Baja kit installed by a previous owner. It was barley running when purchased. A basic cleaning of all the electrical contacts, especially at the fuse box and the Stink Bug woke right up. The brakes have all been replaced prior to street driving this gem. The brake drums have been powder coated Black Smoke II. The customization plans include a metallic cooper and black paint job, new window and door seals, new original style interior, a turbo and engine dress up for the 1971 1600 type 1.
The side draft Weber carb needs a great deal of tunning with this home made set up. Still a bit rich in fuel at start up, cough.
